REVIEW Magnesium ascorbyl phosphate is a salt form of L-ascorbic acid or vitamin C. Unlike L-Ascorbic Acid, it does not readily degrade in formulas containing water. It is considered light-stable and oxygen-stable. It is used in cosmetics as a potent anti-oxidant, can improve appearance of aged skin. Also it is an excellent non-irritating skin whitening agent that inhibits skin cells to produce melanin, lightens age spots via tyrosinase inhibition.
