REVIEW
 Cystamine dihydrochloride is transglutaminase inhibitor which is being investigated as a treatment as a neuroprotective agent for neurodegenerative diseases, e g., Huntingdon's diseases. Cystamine dihydrochloride is also a radiation-protective agent that interferes with sulfhydryl enzymes. It may also protect against carbon tetrachloride liver damage. The compound is also being investigated as an anti-HIV agent.
