 Alpha,alpha-Diphenyl-4-piperidinomethanol is an ataractive agent that diminishes hallucinations in psychotic individuals. Despite being a positional isomer of the psychostimulant pipradrol, it has instead mild depressant effects. The antihistamine agent terfenadine produces this compound as an active major metabolite.
