REVIEW
 Camostat mesylate is an orally available serine protease inhibitor and is used for treating pancreatitis and postoperative reflux oesophagitis. It is also used in the treatment of hemorrhage. It has been found to cause significant increase in the bicarbonate concentration, secretory rate, and output of pancreatic juice of dogs. In addition it was shown that this compound may prevent or depress pancreatitis-induced referred allodynia/hyperalgesia in rat models.
