REVIEW

Abiraterone acetate(CB 7630) is an orally active steroidal progesterone prodrug, a novel steroidal inhibitor of human Cytochrome P450(17a-Hydroxylase-C17,20-lyase), and a potential agent for the treatment of prostatic cancer. This agent may suppress testosterone production by both the testes and the adrenals to castrate-range levels.
