REVIEW Fludarabine is a prodrug converted to free nucleoside 9-beta-D-arabinosyl-2-fluoroadenine (F-ara-A). F-ara-A enters cells and accumulates as 5'-triphosphate. Interferes with DNA synthesis and repair. Induces apoptosis of cancer cells and RNA transcription inhibitor.
