REVIEW Fenbendazole is a broad-spectrum benzimidazole anthelmintic against gastrointestinal parasites including giardia, roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, Taenia tapeworms, pinworms, aelurostrongylus, paragonimiasis, strongyles and strongyloides. It can be administered to sheep, cattle, horses, fish, dogs, cats, rabbits and seals. Its mode of action is to bind to beta-tubulin and prevent the polymerization of microtubules , impairing intracellular transport mechanisms and interfering with protein synthesis.
