REVIEW Zotepine is an atypical antipsychotic, exhibiting antidepressive and anxiolytic effects in vivo, for use in case of for acute and chronic schizophrenia. It is a 5-HT2A receptor and dopamine D2 receptor antagonist (Ki values are 0.69 and 2.3 nM respectively). Zotepine is also a potent histamine H1 receptor antagonist (IC50 = 8.0 nM).
