REVIEW
 Tricyclazole is a systemic and protective fungicide for the control of rice blast. Tricyclazole is a melanin biosynthesis inhibitors. Tricyclazole inhibits polyhydroxynapthaline reductase enzyme and thus inhibiting melanin formation in fungi. In the absence of melanin, apperssoria fails to produce penetrating hypha or penetration hypha fails to penetrate into host tissue. Tricyclazole provides control against blast in paddy that occurs at all the stages viz., leaf blast, stem blast and panicle blast.
