REVIEW N-Acetyl DL-penicillamine is a metal chelating compound (mercury, copper) and is a used as negative control for Nitric Oxide -producing reagents. It was recently unexpectedly shown that N-acetylpenicillamine (NAP), inhibited porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus replication.
